  edit to tape issues

  I am running FCP 5.1.1, Kona 3 with all the breakouts, Mackie 1402, G5 and Sony UVW-1800 Beacam SP. I ned to do two things that I am unable to. I have all conections and cable runs correct, I hope. I can captue audio/video beautifully from the VTR. I cannot print to tape or edit to tape. I get no timecode, audio levels, nor am I getting anyhing on the tape at all. Just black wih lines and no sound. I also need to do voice over into FCP, and I get no mic audio from Kona 3. I can plug into the Mackie and hear it. What’s the deal with this?

  If you feed the video & audio out from the Kona 3 to the VTR, put it to E/E mode, are you able to get any signal ? If you can, then it confirms the video & audio connection is ok. If not, check again.
