  Missing Effect Controls

  The effect controls window is entirely missing. It isn’t under the Windows dropdown menu, and when I right click on an effect the “Reveal in Effect Controls” button is simply grayed out! Well, I am stumped and can’t find an answer anywhere else… Please help!

  You can try changing your Window>Workspace to another setting and see if it shows up. It’s probably just hidden under another window. Things can get messy quickly in AE if you dock and undock panels/frames. Look carefully at all the tabs in every panel. some make you scroll right/left to see the tabs.

  Did you open the render engine, not the full After Effects application?
