    Hi all:

Erik Lauritzen’s “Believe” movie is awesome — and although the 3d Stroke is very nice, I’m curious if anyone knows how he used the lighting/glow effects on the “Are you a believer?” text — that’s just the cat’s meow to me.

    TIA for any help!

Hi, this is Erik. Which glow effect are you speaking of? The strokes or the light sweeps on along the text itself?

If your talking about the glows on the text… its pretty easy. I just ran a CC light sweep (now built in to AE) and used Trapcode Starglow (on top of that) to pick up the lighter part of sweep wiping across the words. You must adjust the Threshold in Starglow so that it only picks up the lightest part of the sweep… otherwise the entire line of text will glow…

Now just animate your light sweeps across the type and the glow will follow. Hint: subtle is better in this case. Dont overdo it with the sweep and glow lengths etc.

    Hope this helps!
