  • Quick way to add sequential Takes to Clips metadata

So I have 100’s of clips / takes for a TV Pilot I’m editing. I’m organizing all my clips right now and its super easy and great, except for adding takes to a series of clips. So if I have scene 1 and it has 40 takes in it, is there a way to quickly add the takes if everything is in order already? Kind of like how in EXCEL you can drag the box down to create a number sequence, can you do that in FCPX?

    Thanks
    Daniel

« Shot notes x » can insert metadata from csv ( usually from notes taken on the set)

or simply renaming selected clips of the event via the inspector ( Apply custom name menu) could modify the name sequentially following a define rule, this however does not edit the metadata

Okay cool, I’ll try the csv route, but it was a small crew so we didn’t have anyone to take notes :-/

    Thanks
