Importing from camera
Hi, I have been redirected to post on this forum.
I just got FCPX, I switched from FCP7. In FCP7 I could directly import from camera using Log and Transfer. It worked via USB with my camera, that is Canon XF100. In FCPX I see there is an import from camera option in the menu, but it doesn’t see my camera, only the built-in iSight.
How can I import from the camera I have directly to FCPX? What do I need to do? Is it possible that this camera is not supported and won’t work?

What are your video settings in the camera? Can you try a different card? Reformat in the camera and capture a few test shots and try again …

What version of the software are you using? Did you download the Canon plugin?

The settings in camera are 1280×720 50p. It’s a two card camera. I formatted them both in camera and tried to import a new shot and no luck still. I also downloaded and installed the Canon plugin for FCPX and now there appears an XPFM13 archive in the Import from Camera dialog, but I can’t open it. It seems inactive. The camera is on and in playback mode.
Any idea? Thanks very much in advance.

I installed the Canon plugin but I dont see any change. FCPX still doesn’t see the camera. I’ll try out XFCPX thanks for the tip.
