  FCP X shows “there was a problem connecting to the server “time capsule” , at startup

  i get this message after FCP X started. And no matter how often i click OK, it will come again and again.
  I tried to turn off time machine, reset my time capsule, enabled/disabled filesharing on the capsule, nothing helped and i´m going crazy !!

  With this message popping up every 1-2 minutes FCP X is useless to me.

  Anybody ever had that problem ?

  Running 10.7.4. on MBP retina, but Problem was also on my old MBP 15″ early 2009 running 10.7.4

  Clearly, you’ve got a link to some asset that the program thinks is located on “Time Capsule” – but it can’t find it.

  Try trashing your Preferences. That sometimes clears up this kind of location based issue.

  (Theres a nice free or cheap utility called Preference (or Preferences) Manager (can’t remember precisely) that does this easily without you having to dig around in your system folders to find what to dump.

  Hi Bill, thanks for your advice.
  Finally today i got the issue solved with the help of Apple Support.
  It was a setting in the User Preferencesm and the problematic file was

  com.apple.iApps.plist

  it took some time to locate it but now i´m fine and FCP X runs fine.

  Hi Manuel,
  I got exactly the same problem at startut, trying to use FCP 7 that was just installed on the computer.
  Could you give me a few details about how you saved the problem? Where was the file com.apple.iApps.plist located and did you simply erase it?
