  Custom output aspect ratio – 720×580 (NOT 4:3 or 16:9)

  I am trying to create a flash video measuring 720×580 pixels in FCP X. However, I can’t seem to figure out how to change the output video aspect ratio and how to edit for that size.

  If I use “Trim” or “Crop”, that doesn’t change aspect ratio of the final video.

  Can you please help? I will be hugely appreciative for a workflow, the more detailed the better (is my only option to use the Compressor?) Thank you so much!

  That’s a curious size. What’s it for?

  As for FCX, you cannot set up a project that size.

  You can in FCP7.

  You should have no problem setting up a preset in compressor to convert or even crop to create that final size.

  When you create a new project (sequence) you can specify a custom setting for PAL SD of 720×576. It’s 25fps. Is that what you’re trying to do?
