  Spliting up layers in the timeline

  Hello all!

  I’m fairly new to AE and I have one small problem. I mainly use the program for editing undergroud music videos with alot of poor footage and fast cuts.

  As it is now, I do all the cuting Premiere and export a final cut to AE for placing of effects.
  This means I have one single video file that contains alot of different clips with different lightings for exemple.

  When doing color correction on there I am now forced to create a new layer for every cut thats made. Is there any way to have a specific layer be split up inside the time-line(Except for “Split Layer” of using Key Frames)?

  Why not use an adjustment layer?
  Add your effects to the adjustment layer and add keyframes (mostly hold keyframes) whenever you need to adjust your color settings.

  Hello!

  My apologiez for a fairly foggy explanation.
  Thats what I have done, using Adjustment Layer but I have had to
  create a new layer for every single cut that brings me to the specified footage.

  But thats the best way?
  Are there specific Key Frames for “Start” and “Stop”?
