    i wouldn’t. your best bet is to render lossless and have ‘Compressor’ do it for you. It uses VBR so you’ll get the best image for the best data rate.

    The question stimulates another question:
    Why do you want to use MPEG2 out of After Effects?
    As Chris says, there’s a probably a much better way but it depends on your end needs

    I had a quick job to run out onto DVD. Rather than render out, then convert to MPEG, I was hoping to go straight to MPEG.

    It was a time issue.
