    Hi,

Apologies for what must be a very mundane question. I’m still quite new to AE.

I’m getting some weirdness in between some keyframes of a camera move – it appears that the scale of an object in shot fluctuates very slightly without reason as the camera passes by.

I’m believe that this is quite a common problem in AE and in fact I remember a tutorial over at videocopilot.net where this was addressed briefly. Apparently you right click the affected keyframes and select ‘exponential scale’ from the keyframe assistant menu?

Anyway, when I do this, the option ‘exponential scale’ is greyed out – I can’t select it.

Anyone know why this is? Is there another way to get around this little glitch perhaps?

    Many thanks,

    Dave.

    P.S. I’m using CS3.

Yes, that’s exactly what I was trying to do and thanks to you, it’s fixed!

Thank you very much – these forums are AMAZING!

    Dave.

I know this reply is a little bit late, but I had this same glitch as well and I figured out how to get it.. “un-grayed”.

Instead of using the dropdown menu below your selected object, simply hit “s” so it brings up the scale function all by itself, add your key frames, highlight, right click and boom! there’s your exponential scale function!
