    What do you mean when you say its not very responsive to editing? Does it drop frames? Are you getting artifacts?

    Yeah. It looks like broadcast qaulity. It’s a little jumpy once and a whole and it lags behind the timeline, but it’s a step in the right direction

    There is a lag. So I’ll press play and it takes a moment for it to start playing with AV turned on. It also seems to hang up once in a while, however that could be because I have some unrendered effects. I’ve been using Avid MC6 lately and my Kona 3 is very responsive using Avid, even more that Final Cut Pro 7, so I’ve been getting used to it I guess.

    Can you explain your setup? I have a Kona lhi, but it’s in a mac tower which means it’s not a thunderbolt mac since there aren’t any thunderbolt towers. According to what I’ve read on the Apple and AJA websites, I need a thunderbolt mac AND a Kona XT to get video out.

    So would you say it is ready for a room full of clients? It doesn’t sound like it is quite there yet… I guess thats why its called beta.

    You just need the new drivers for your LHi. Thunderbolt is not required, but Lion 10.7.2 is.

    While the broadcast monitoring output – and the AJA driver to support it – are both considered beta versions, please be sure to refer to the documentation that AJA has provided with this beta driver release.

    If the AJA Control Panel format and frame rate was not set up prior to launching Final Cut Pro X to match the material being edited in Final Cut Pro X, then the performance of playback might not be as you would expect.
