[Andrew Richards] “You just need the new drivers for your LHi. Thunderbolt is not required, but Lion 10.7.2 is.”

Thanks. The marketing documentation is more than a little confusing. But once I got to the drivers page of my card on AJAs website, it made more sense.

I double checked all my settings. The image is beautiful. There is just a small delay when hitting play. I’m sure they’ll work it out.

Will this driver support both FCP7 and FCPX? Or will it totally mess up my FCP7 system on the same machine?

  • Andrew Richards

AJA recommends separate boot drives or partitions for FCPX and legacy FCP. The drivers do not appear to be a universal release.

    Best,

So far I’ve been able to work in Media Composer 6, FCPX, and FCP 7 without issue. Haven’t tried Premiere Pro yet.

Went to the AJA website to download the drivers, saw that the latest driver for LHe was 2 months old, and the latest for LHi was today. Called AJA support and at first they did not realize this was the case, but then confirmed that only Kona 3, Lhi and Lhe plus were supported. I then called AJA sales, and was told it was due to technical limitation of the Lhe card. This was all done after I posted on the Cow.
I am very disappointed, and if there is a workaround I sure would like to know.
