  • Timecode – can I advance the hour number?

Posted by Andy Javs on November 7, 2005 at 1:50 pm

    Hi,
I want to burn-in a timecode reference but with the hours starting at 05:00:00:00.
I can’t see how to set this with AE timecode plug-in.
    Any help appreciated, many thanks.

What are the “time units” set to?

If it were set to 30 you’d set the “starting frame” to 540000 to get 5 hours.

So start there and adjust accordingly.

    thanks for response wes.
I can’t get it to go over ‘100000’. If I type a higher number it just defaults to ‘100000’.
    Any more clues??

    You’re using AE version…?

V6, I think. Not sure if it’s Pro or basic. Not with computer at the moment.
To work around I just put a text layer with a number 5 over the top of the zero. Clunky but it works!
So should I be able to increase the hours to whatever number I want by increasing the frame number?

I would have suggested something very much like that. I have 6.5 here, maybe that improved the timecode plug-in since the version you have.
