so you are actually doing a RAM preview (hitting 0 on the keypad) rather than just hitting space bar? you need to hit 0 on the keypad, wait for it to render into RAM, you’ll see the green bar building, when it has done as much as it can it will play back… sometimes you need to let it play through a couple times before it plays in real time.

    does this help?

    hi thanks for your reply
well space bar is managing 14.6 fps and 0 is managing realtime mostly maybe dropping back to 24.7 …i shall read some more! but what is the difference between spacebar and 0… i know i should not do this but combustion just plays it back… : )
i have to say its nice working on ae7 though

‘spacebar’ will render to disk and play from disk.

‘zero’ from the #s pad will render to ram and playback from ram.

since ram is access is faster than disk access you have a much better chance of realtime playback by hitting the zero on the #s pad.
