    Good advice.

    I will report, however, that I have both installed on the same partition and have had no problems going back to FCP 7.

    However, my FCPX performance isn’t as smooth as some, so maybe this has something to do with it (doubtful – probably just need more RAM and less crap on my system)

    Uh, David,

    This is the difference between your practices and “What Apple tells you to do.” I’m sure your stuff is ‘good too” the difference is that I’m posting an Apple tech note that normally 99% of people will miss.

    Amongst other things, There are specific instructions on permissions and how to handle Motion so it works correctly and keep the old one.

    Don’t be surprised when all hell breaks loose on your system Matthew, I warned everyone how to do this seamlessly and without risk. Those who have failed to heed my warnings in the past about such things almost always come back wondering why things don’t work right.

    If only it really were all.
    But every thread I visit for information I see you telling everyone how much you hate X.
    I think you’ve made your point.
    I think the rest of us are grown up enough to make professional decisions.
    Continued soccer mom, birthday party jabs aren’t real helpful either.

    I think I’m one of a lot of pros that will be very happy using X and Motion 5.
    We run a lot of systems and a lot of apps,
    Digital Performer wasn’t a dream nor was Logic for a while…Final Cut V.1 was really deficient in a lot of ways moving from Media 100, but we did it, saved a fortune and made a small one with all the different versions of FC since.

    I’ve got 8 spots and two promotional films on the board right now and I have no problem committing to doing them in X. In fact I’m really excited about it.
    I must be crazy Huh?

    If this post was squared at me then I wouldn’t call you crazy, just that you had your sense of humour surgically removed.

    Thanks for some of the passive aggessiveness but I’ll stick to keeping good cheer and posting opinions that have all been mature and not at all that you describe…
