I have a Comp with some video in it. I’ve been given another AE project which is alittle animated logo. I’ve brought it in as another Comp but its smaller than Comp with the video in it. When I go to really blur it out or add some light rays they get cut off by the edges of the comp. Is there anyway to fix this so the blur or light rays extend PAST the edges?

    Thanks,
    Andrew

Use the Grow Bounds filter in AE. Put it before your blur and you should get the result you need.

Alternatively, choose Layer>Pre Compose… on your smaller comp. After Effects will make a new comp the same size as your final comp containing the smaller comp. You can now apply the effects and they should work too.
