Docking station for new MacBook Pro
Looking for a good and not too expensive Thunderbolt dock… any recommendations?
After three years of retirement I could no longer hold out any longer, so I purchased a new MacBook Pro yesterday, which, believe it or not, is my first Thunderbolt enabled Mac. And, being a bit ignorant of new TB hardware, I purchased a crappy TB dock, which simply does not have great bandwidth. What should I be looking at?
FYI, it must have HDMI, gigabit Ethernet, etc.

While you have been retired David, many of us have moved on to Win computers which have all the necessary connectors on the MOBO. My laptop that runs Linux has HDMI, USB-c, USB3.1 etc all built in so I have no idea what docks are in the marketplace and work best with MacBooks

I’m a big fan of the Other World Computing Thunderbolt 3 docks. -

Same here. CalDigit is another good option. Each has slightly different mix of ports.
