Hi, I have a problem apparently with the Resolve dongle. Today the application suddenly froze when opening, and I had to reboot. After that, it always crashes when opening and “checking licences”. It says “resolve.exe stopped working”. I’m on Windows system. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the software, but it doesn’t help.

I have that problem when connected through a USB extender. Connecting directly to the computer fixes it for me

Hi, I’ve tried several ports directly to computer, doesn’t help. Tried the dongle with another computer and Resolve opened just fine.. but not on my main rig. Have installed and uninstalled several times but nothing seems to make a difference.

your usb controller may have gone bad.

most of the dongle problems are usb related and not the dongle.

some machined will even burn their usb ports down if power draw exceeds manufacturers specs
on pc machines i have seen.

Well, the usb controller seems to work perfectly with all other devices. Have tried both usb2 and usb 3 ports, as I suppose they have different controllers.

but if the dongle works on other machine then it leaves hardware or config.

have you tried to re install resolve ?

Yes, installed and unistalled several times.. also the same thing with V 10.1. Don’t know if there’s some preferences file or similar that could be reset..

Or maybe your os just gone bad.

Maybe you could try clean install on separate disk ?

In my experience it is simpler to clean install and not to try
fix if there is no specific info what is broken. Usually it gives you more problems.

Ok, then the os was broken so to say.
