After Effects CC 2015 no motion blur
Hi I have searched for a post that deals with this issue but couldn’t find anything – apologies if it is out there, I am new here!
I am trying to get motion blur to work on Adobe After Effects 2015. I have the appropriate layers motion blur switched on and and the ‘master motion blur’ active. I have my selected layer moving (at speed) from left to right of screen. This isn’t video of motion this is actual key-framed movement. There is no blur occurring. I have the previews at full (no wireframe etc) but still nothing.
Anyone have any ideas – am I missing something obvious?

Do you have effects applied to the layer? Some effects do not support motion blur, in which case you can use CC Force Motion Blur.

Thanks for your response. I don’t have any effects applied but I will give the CC force motion blur a try and let you know how I get on!

I’m having this problem right now. I know about “force motion blur”, but I’d like to figure out what’s causing this issue. It’s a very fast position transform on a precomposed text layer, see screenshot.

For people reading this thread in the future, I figured it out. Apparently having the ‘collapse transformations‘ switch on stops the motion blur from working. If you need collapse transformations on, then you need to use ‘force motion blur‘.
