  • Full Res Debayer from F55 raw / low grade hardware

    Hi,

It appears running full version 9.1.1 on OpenCL hardware that I cannot get a full res debayer from F55 raw material. Per another post I had a month or two ago, my 1GB of video ram precludes it.

Is there anyway to force full res debayer via command line? Or, another idea, force via command line a CPU debayer?

The Sony raw viewer only allows DPX or OpenEXR output, so I’m having a devil of a time trying to get some high-quality tests done of the raw. The half-res debayer has aliasing and noise issues.

I’ve had enough of the Macbook and would jump into something better immediately, but the imminent Mac Pro update has me in a tough spot. Id like to know what’s coming before I blow $2600 on an iMac!

how about using the Sony software to create the DPX files, then play the DPX files back in Resolve? you’ll need 250-300MB/s to play them back in realtime for HD-size DPX files. but if you’re just looking at individual frame quality, that’s probably fine.

btw, we just rented an F55 for the week, and we can’t turn on the raw recording. all the options are ghosted out. we have the AXS-R5 raw recorder and cards. any ideas?

    thanks

You must put the F55 in CineEI mode. That will activate the AXS-5 recorder.

The Abel cinetech blog has a pretty comprehensive video about it…
