when i was in school i saved my files as divx from afer effects.
since than i lost my originals projects.
now i’m working on my reel and wanted to import those files back into after effects.
but after effects doesn’t recognize them, i tried to import them to premier, and had no luck there either.
    what can i do?
    thanks

It sounds as if you don’t have the divX codec on your system.

Sorry I can’t be more helpful, since I never use DivX.

i believe i have it, since i can watch the file, and did render it from after effect.
but after effect doesn’t let me import it.

Perhaps you could use another program to convert the divx files into another more AE Friendly format. Even if you could import them, it would cost you A LOT to work with them, as they are designed for viewing them in a linear way.

You can download Virtualdub at https://www.virtualdub.org/ or other freeware programs that perhaps can open the files.

Oh, and you should convert them to a format as lossless as possible (virtualdub default, by the way), as your divx versions have probably lost a lot of quality so far, and you surely want to keep them as good looking as possible.
