I have problems with moving text not looking crisp, very anti-aliased. Someone had suggested it looks “de-interlaced”, I am not sure what that means. I am also getting alot of artifacting and noise surrunding just the text. the images and solid shapes look great. does anyone have any ideas?

the text is nested and collapsed in comps a few levels deep, could that be the issue?
I have build the text through the After Effects text tool, should I try brining in text through Illustrator?

    thanks for the help

Select the text layer (or the nested layer with the text) and press command+u. That should anti-alias. And fix the problem. If that was the problem.

to be more specific I am getting this problem after I publish to DVD through DVD Studio Pro. Is there a fool proof procedure for making a DVD?

The codec for DVD is MPEG-2, and it’s not perfect.

Are your titles bright red? If so, you should desaturate them before rendering by choosing a desaturated red for the text. Most codecs seem to degrade bright, saturated graphics.
