Posted by Dan Davis on November 3, 2011 at 5:19 pmHi,
Wondering how I can get around this. My sequence is a very simple, prores a couple of tracks and 60secs long.
I’m doing a round trip from fcp and have an abundance of fast disk space. Thanks for any help.

November 3, 2011 at 5:39 pmHi Danny,
Is this a repeatable problem? Could you send the following to davincihelp at blackmagic-design.com?
1. Captured log file
2. Exported project
3. FCP XMLVivek Vedagiri

November 4, 2011 at 5:26 amSame problem here, but complex FCP7 XML with 6 layers. I changed external drive I was rendering to and all was well. Also out of town – wil send logs Monday. V8.01

Could you see if this still happens in v8.1? It has a few fixes in that area.
Danny,
Are you using v8.0 too?

November 4, 2011 at 7:32 amHi again,
Just to let you know I can achieve a flattened movie on render.
Best,

Do you mean with a flattened timeline, you don’t have this issue? Only happens on a multi-layer render?

March 1, 2012 at 10:30 pmJust had this problem for the first time today. A 23.98 project was trying to render at around 90 fps and couldn’t keep up. Lowered rendering speed on the render page to fix it. Went back to maximum speed and it was fine. Just needed a render speed reboot.

May 7, 2012 at 8:53 pmI just had this happen as well, but I think it was the way that the original file was named. I was provided a QT that I scene cut, when I went to render I think it kept getting hung up on the fact that the file name had a ” / ” in the title. I was rendering with “use prefix, suffix, no. of digits from source” selected. When I un-ticked that, it rendered fine.

June 6, 2012 at 5:28 amTed,
I am also experiencing the “failed to encode video frame” and “no such track” errors.
The render speed reset did not work for me 🙁
btw – What kind of system do you have that can render out at 90fps!!!
The best i ever see rendering red footage is 20fps with a Red Rocket and a Quadro 4000.
