I am in the middle of grading a 90 minute feature shot on RED, and grading @ 2k. I have broken the film into 5- 20 minute or so reels. And I am reconnecting to the r3d files. In order to not have to dig thru 13 Terrabytes worth of raw footage and manually add just the clips used for each reel. I loaded all of the raw into the media pool and let the EDL find and load the footage in the session. Now that all of the footage is in the session for each chunk of the movie. Does anyone know if there a way to remove the unused clips from the media pool so I am not blowing up the system and getting Davinci is running out of memory errors?

    Thanks,

    D.J.

In the media pool you can sort by “usage” (you may have to right click and “update” to see the usage numbers) and then you should get a lot of clips towards the bottom that have a usage number of 0… those would be your unused clips and you can just shift-click to select and remove them all. If that’s the same as what you mean.

Resolve breaths a sigh of relief with RAM to spare!! And my blood pressure just came back down to a manageable level!

    Thanx,

Does anyone know what the cause of the Out Of Memory warnings are.

The fact that Resolve is still a 32 bit app is one cause.
