  • NURBS Curves imported into Illustrator?

    Hi everyone,

I would like to know if there is a script, or software or plugin or any method where I could import Maya NURBS curves into Illustrator. I find Maya’s NURBS so easy to work with and I can do art so much faster, but obviously there’s a lot more you can do in Illustrator after the line work is done. So far the only method I could find is to use Maya’s Vector render. But this dose not follow my original line work, (it traces it) so there are a lot more points then I would like and the vector work just isn’t as clean. Also when it opens up in illustrator the art work usually acts a little weird. Its also just a lot of work sometimes to create NURBS patches, so that there is something to actually render. So any suggestions?

I would definitely like to know this as well. I’ve been using illustrator for years and have just been introduced to cv curves. Instantly got better lines.
