  Type Problem in Photoshop CC2017

  Hi,
  I´m using CC2017 on a Mac. I´m adding type to a document. When I type words the cursor does not move from left to right but the correct letter sequence is non the less there. That in itself is odd but when I try to add numbers it gets really strange. If I type 25 to 27 May 208 the numbers spring to the end of the sentence. If I write the sentence without using the space bar, it works but as soon as I try to get a space between the numbers and words the numbers spring to the end.
  Can anyone help me with this?
