    Hello.
    yesterday I’ve tried to export a 4K 16:9 composition from AE.
    Here the export settings:

    Unfortunately the export resolution is merely 2000 by 2000.

    Does anyone know, how to fix this issue?

    Thanks a lot!

    You missed that little “Settings mismatch” button in the lower left. It would tell you that the resolution restriction for this setting is 2000×2000. You could send this to Adobe Media Encoder and render out an H264 with a proper level for the resolution.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC#Levels

    Also why are you resizing the render to the same resolution?

    Thank you a lot, Tero!
    Sorry for being so blind)
    By resizing I was making sure, that the output is really 3840×2160.
    Thanks one more time, you just made my day!

    Also, I wouldn’t recommend encoding to the QuickTime container with the H.264 codec if you can avoid it. It kinda stinks. There are other, better h.264 options. And I wouldn’t encode h.264 out of AE at all. (It’s so bad, they removed that functionality from current versions.)

    I’d recommend rendering to an intermediate codec (QuickTime with the Photo-JPEG codec should be fine) and then use the Adobe Media Encoder to make your h.264

    Thank you, Michael! I will reconsider my codec choices (;
    There is still a huge gap in my education.
    Such comments, however are helpful.
    Tnx!
