  • CS4 extended loosing frames?

Posted by Gary Jarvis on August 21, 2010 at 3:26 pm

I seem to be loosing frames

    My process is;

    a) Import QT 264 in frames to layers.

    b) adding by duplication some of the layers which say gives me a total of 400

    c) converting layers to frames

    d) checking I have the correct # of frames

    e) play it through in animation

    f) exporting in QT

    g) re-importing for the sole purpose of confirming my layer/frame count

    h) I found that I now only have 320 frames/layers

Can anyone explain why I am loosing frame/layers? Cos I am totally confused, I’m not sure whether it’s p/s or qt that’s causing my dilemma

    tks Gary

    Yes Richard I’m using extended!

The thing I am doing different here is I’m duplicating layers, it seemed much faster than duplicating a group then dragging them into place which I have done and it worked,

I also am starting with less than 200 frames per clip this way I don’t exceed the 500 max.

File > Open and just select the movie… don’t import frames

If going to AE or Premiere… just save a PSD file (and keep movie in same folder)

    Thanks for the response Richard,

I actually tried in Ppr and was only allowed a max of 100 frames psd unless I did something wrong

    DO NOT IMPORT AS FRAMES

File > Open the movie file

    Hey Richard you are 100%!

The way it is working is, as you said “open clip” go to document settings and note frame setting and time, flatten into layers, convert to frame animation, add/subtract whatever frames one is going to dupe, convert back to timeline double check frame setting and time, adjust frame setting and/or time based on whether one added or subtracted, export as vid clip this is to double check the clip is seeing all frames if good or not cancel, make changes if necessary by adding/subtracting to time, select all, make frames from layers, play, export.

    Once again thanks

    Gary
