  Weird things happening in AE – ram preview – audio preview

  Hi, thanks for reading.

  some keyboard commands are not working

  When using 0 on numeric keypad for ram preview nothing happens. Also when using ‘.’ for audio preview – nothing.
  Was working a few days ago.

  instead, the arrow tools get stuck in drag mode. Does work from the Preview palette if clicking the buttons: Ram and Play

  the space bar does allow playing.

  tried shutting down, restarting, pram zap, making anew project.
  still does same thing

  any ideas?

  Have you tried resetting After Effects default preferences?

  Since you’re on a Mac here’s the procedure:

  Launch After Effects while holding down Option + Command + Shift

  You should be presented with a dialog asking whether you want to reset the preferences. Click Yes… and see whether this resolves the issue.

  Hi

  thanks for the answer….i Tried that…didnt work
  turns out I had turned on Mouse Keys in Macs Accessibility area: Mouse and Trackpad.
  Maybe there is a keyboard shortcut that turn it on by accident.
