    Hi everyone, major issue with my After Effects this morning. Just turn PC on (64gb, quadro card) very latest updates from CC and AE wouldn’t load saying:

    After Effects error: missing preference section [Output Module Spec String Section v28]
    (21 :: 20 )

    Now I then uninstalled everything in an attempt to get it to work, including an older version of cc. But after reinstalling 2014 I still have this error. Major problem for me is I am supposed to be doing an evenings work for a new client tonight, i’m pretty darn screwed just now.

    If anyone has any idea what is going, please please help.

    Many thanks,
    Steve

    What OS? What are your system specs?

    Have you checked for the famous permissions issues [link]?

    If all else fails, uninstall the whole Adobe shebang, run the Adobe CC Cleaner tool, and then reinstall everything.

    Uninstalling does not remove your preferences.

    To reset preferences, hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) while the application is starting.
