I’ll get my apologies out of the way with. I haven’t done a search!

I’ve used AE for over a decade but I’ve never ‘done’ expressions. It’s a room that I have never opened the door too (well, I’ve kinda bent down to look through the keyhole & ran away screaming) but I feel it might be the only way to achieve what I want to do.

I wish to tie together the Horizontal & Vertical properties of Mosaic. This is so that the ratio of 16:9 is consistent & I always have a square block result which I can then keyframe to enlarge/shrink.

Is this possible with expressions? Or is there another way to achieve this?

    Thanks

Expressions Virgin (well, 1st base maybe :S)

You should be able to use an expression like this for the horizontal blocks:

    effect(“Mosaic”)(“Vertical Blocks”)*16/9

    It’s that easy?

I’m shamed. Thanks for this. I am trying to distress some video to try to achieve a look of a bad encoding & splitting the RGB channels to bring colour into the piece. Tieing the H & V together keeps the square look.

    Cheers 🙂
