  Hi Shane,

  I hope you can help. I’m using FCP2 on a Macbook Pro 6.0.2 and Quick time 7.3
  I imported P2 footage using the Log and Transfer in FCP2. firewire Lacie 800 ext drive hooked up Capture Scratch was set to that drive, I made a new seq. and new folders and saved the project as XYZ. Set each folder the logging bin as needed.
  The footage went to the folders with no problem. Played back footage from the folders and everything was there. We then save the project closed FCP Open the Lacie drive open the Seq and everything was there.
  When I returned home 2 folders were off-line I have done this many times without any problem. This happened on 2 different Lacie drives. I don’t think it is a drive problem. Is there a problem with QT 7.3 or FCP2 6.0.2 when doing Log and Transfer?

  Yes….it’s broken. I got it to work once, but not again. FCP 6.0.2 has messed up a basic function of FCP.

  Are you using Raylight to make tranfer to FCP?

  Raylight doesn’t TRANSFER anything…you misunderstand what it does. It allows you to access the MXF files WITHOUT transferring anything. Launch Raylight, have it scan your machine for P2 MXF files, and then FCP can edit those natively. No converting to QT.

  I just got an email from Apple support and it seems that only those with the disappearing P2 problem at some point had P2 Log installed. Removing it doesn’t seem to fix even with a reinstall of FCP 6.0.2

  Curious, how many that are experiencing the problem had/have P2 Log installed?

  I do not have P2 Log installed. What a mess on Apple part. Never had a problem with the old Log and Capture P2 or with Log and Transfer with 6.0

  Do you have any other P2 helpers installed- like HD Log, P2 CMS, Raylight? Ever run a demo of any of them?
