Drawback of not being able to change lens?
What is the advantage of having the ability to use interchangeable lenses if you can just use an adapter lens like you can with the HVX? What are we missing out on by not being able to physically take the lens off and switch it with another one?

Depth of field and cinema style effects to a certain degree. If you have to ask you’re probably not going to miss them one bit.

Some lens adaptors reduce the light going to the CCD.

You also lose a lot of wide end of the zoom, w/ the 1.6x the first 30-40% of the zoom vignettes but with the 2x I would say about 80-90% of the zoom vignettes. I have used 1.6x and the added zoom is really nice and I need to pull the image in and could not get physically closer so I could live with the lose on the wide side.
Also these are big heavy pieces of glass, making it almost impossible to handhold the camera.
If you really need a lot more power often seriously look at the HPX500.
