  • DVX-100 batteries with HVX-200?

Posted by Kevin on May 5, 2007 at 12:57 am

Hi list, quick question as I just purchased and HVX-200 today and plan on shooting with it tomorrow. Can I use the batteries from my DVX-100 with it. So far the bigger ones I have work but a smaller one a put in (3 hours) was out afer ten minutes. Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Warmest,

    Kevin

Sure it’s the same type of battery connection. Perhaps the smaller one is simpled tapped out from use.

Cool. Thanks for posting back Noah. I tested more and they seemed fine but I didn’t want to learn the hard way in the middle of a shoot that there was some technical issue at play. Feel more comfortable now.

    Again thanks.

I’ve been using our HVX with the DVX batteries for 4 months now – and they work fine. You’re right – the small ones die pretty quickly, but I had just assumed the batteries were at the end of their life span (since those were the initial ones I purchased with the DVX.) One note – if you are shooting with the Firestore – get an additional battery (180m battery is really the way to go) and grab an extra firewire cable to have as backup.

    Good luck,
    Tony
