  Quicktime Format H.264 Codec export issues

  I need some help with an export issue. I need to export a 1920×1080 COMP from after effects with an H.264 codec. Everytime it hangs up and never recovers. Is there any documentation about frame size stipulations for H.264 codecs?

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  1080 comps should be fine for rendering to the H264 CODEC. It is after all the de facto CODEC for Bluray Discs. Try rendering to another CODEC to ascertain if it’s a CODEC or comp/layer/effect issue.

  Lastly, when rendering to the H264 CODEC, it is ideal to use Adobe Media Encoder (AME) instead of AE. AME allows for 2-pass VBR and renders in the background if AE is running concurrently.

  To render via AME, simply import an AEP instead of a movie. Then select the appropriate Composition for rendering.

  Eric, I have the very same issue on my Z820. I spent 3 days trouble shooting with someone who really know computers and Adobe software.
  Even reinstalled Win 7 and then tested the export process before I added another piece of software to the system. MPEG Streamclip had the same problem. So I gave up on Quicktime H.264 and stared doing MP4 H.264.
  Something is up with QT on PCs that caused thing hang problem every time.

  QT’s H264 is flaky. Select the H.264 format instead.

  I can easily export in H.264 package (mp4) but not a .mov with an H.264 codec in AE or AME. it will not work.
