  Text Effect: out-of-focus lights merge into text

  Hi,
  I just saw a promo on HBO. The picture goes totally out-of-focus, the blurry lights on it (almost like lense flares) merge into words. I’m new to AE and thought I could get some pointers from the pros.

  Sounds like a good design idea. I suspect it’s simple morph work, but without having seen it I’m not sure. Looking forward to an example.

  Can’t seem to find anything on line. It was a promo I’d seen on cable. I suppose you’re right about the morphing. It’d looked really great and I’ll check out the morphing tutorial that’s online.
