  • Is it possible to cut down room echo?

Not really sure how to explain this, but I shot a video in an OR of a Dr. doing an on camera testimonial and the sound has the quality or lack there of an empty room, I used a lav, but they had scrubs on and the mic wouldn’t really stay where I wanted it…so the mic could’ve been closer to their mouth. Is there any effect in Audition that would compress the echo sound? Thanks for any direction.

I think it depends… You will not be able to get rid of the whole echoes, but maybe you can shorten them with a ducker. Try to analyse the echoes frequencies (which must not be the same as the voices, because of room reflections) with a parametric equalizer and filter them out.

    Or – if it

Thanks Alex, I’ll try your suggestions. Perhaps echo was the wrong term, more of a auditorium (large room) effect…same result though.
