  Upgrading from DSv8 to DSv10 – Ramifications?

  In order to upgrade my Avid DSv8 to DSv10, what will I need to do to make sure my Sapphires are compatible?

  Hi Jeff; Sapphire should just continue to work if you upgrade to DS10. If you reinstall the system, you’ll need to reinstall Sapphire of course.

  Thanks. I should have been more precise. The concern was that since we were moving to a 64 bit OS we might need to budget for an upgrade?

  Hi Jeff. As long as you have v2 (2.081, make sure you install the 64 bit version) or v3 (32 and 64 bits in the same installer) you should be OK. See https://www.genarts.com/support/sapphire/avid#ds. V1 will not work on a 64-bit OS, it’s too old.
