I have a simple question in regards to the Open Recent Projects in the File Menu. My list has become rather long and I was wondering if anyone knows how to either clear the list completely or remove projects from it. It’s not causing any problems, AE works fine. I just would like to reduce the size of the list or just clear it completely when I need to. Thanks

You could probably edit the preferences.txt file … but do so at your own risk, having saved a copy first.

Sorry, I don’t know of a menu-type command to purge the list.

Thanks Steve. Where would I find the preference.txt file. I did a search on my hard drive and did not find it, plus I look through the AE folder and I did come across it, but I could be looking in the wrong place.

It seems to be a hidden file …

Thanks Steve. I found the file and, after making a backup, will see if I can make the changes I desire.

A backup is good because if the prefs are lost, you’ll lose any render & output module presets that you’ve created. Ugh.

BTW, Adobe doesn’t support our editing the prefs. Just so you know. 🙂
