    Hi all,

It is known that one cannot nest a composition into itself. But I would like to do a slightly different thing.

I have a composition, and I would like to add a “previous frame of the composition” to itself as a layer.

    Is this possible?

You can think of this also the following way. First of all, we arrange each frame of the comp as a still layer. (Layer “Frame N” should be on top of layer “Frame N-1”.) And then, as time goes by, we subsequently turn each of these layers on. Maybe this can be done using expressions, but I suppose there might be even better way…

    Thank you in advance

I’m not sure exactly what you’re trying to accomplish but could you use the Echo effect on an adjustment layer?

Thank you a lot, Erik! Echo does almost exactly what I wanted!
