Following problems with my computer [XP] I have had to reinstall EncoreDVD version 1. Every time I try to import an .avi file as an asset I get the following message. Could not import the file. May be corrupt or the type may not bee supported.
I have tried to import numerous files that I have used before with the same result
I have tried reinstalling the programme and it is still the same.
Any help that you can give me would be appreciated.
Also. will Encore V1 run on a Vista machine?
    Thank you,
    GEORGE.

Sounds like you may be missing a codec.

Encore version 1 was released in 2003, several years before Vista. Last I knew, Encore 1.0 only supported Windows XP.

I managed to find my V2 and have installed that so problem solved.

I have the same problem. I am picking up the same response from an avi file that encore says it is corrupt. Any idea what is going on with this clip?

    Richard,
I never cured it. I was lucky that I found my Version 2 disc and was able to reinstall it so I did not pursue it.
