  Sony PMW-EX1 Firmware Update1.26 is this result normal.

  I everybody i have in the past update the firmware on my PMW-EX1 from 1.11 to 1.20 and now 1.26.
  Everything fine exept when i go to language selection i see :English , Japaneese , Chineese , is this normal.
  I got the firmware from Sony UK since i could not find-it (V1.26) on Sony Canada or Sony USA for the EX1.
  Even if my primary language is French i keep all my NLE in English for simplicity and keyboard configuration.
  Very happy English is there but was expecting French and Spanish , info to install was in about 6 languages.

  Is the Sony download source or country made any difference on languages included in the firmware.
  If it become available in Canada or USA should i download-it and apply-it , will it work if it still 1.26.

  Should i forget all this and wait for a next firmware update or it is the standard international languages version.

  And in your case, I would probably call that phone number in my post.
  (When phone menu starts getting specific, select menu item 4.)
  In my case, the wait-time was reasonable and the tech was pretty helpful.
  They may know what you should do if you already installed 1.26 using a bad installer.

  I call the number an follow your instruction about selecting item 4 in the Sony phone menu system.
  I got very kind an fast information about my downloaded and installed firmware on my PMW-EX1.
  It is normal to see English , Chineese , Japaneese languages selection , so all is fine an i can relax.

  That is correct. The language selection is normal for a US or European model.

  Hi Ian and all

  My present f/ware version is 1.11 and would like to upgrade upto 1.26. So do I have to upgrade to 1.20 before I upgrade to 1.26 or I can upgrade straight away to 1.26 from 1.11.

  It’s an old thread I know, I know!

  I normally stick to trusty 16GB cards, but recently tried some 32GB UHS1 SDHC class cards in my EX1 and got formatting errors.

  I spoke to Sony and went to the following page: https://www.sony.co.uk/pro/product/broadcast-products-camcorders-xdcam/pmw-ex1/support/

  I was on v1.11 firmware from way back when I bought the trusty EX1. Anyway, the latest 1.3 binary on there includes a nice Mac app which seemed to perform the update to 1.3 in two stages.

  Once updated the app asks to be exited. At that point I was stuck. I remove the USB cable and disconnect the power supply. I then plugged the power in again and it rebooted first time.

  All working well now with a couple of different 32GB cards in the camera.
