    what would be the best way of setting up the text like in the image I created? having a major brain block I just cant get them to line up the way I usually do it

    Not sure I completely understand what you are going for, but it looks like you have an object drawn on each side on a text box. Place the objects where you want them, using guides if you need to, and then drag the edges of the text box to equal points on each of those objects. Then center justify the textbox and that should take care of it.

    Am I missing something?

    Sorry for the lack of explanation

    what it is I have an anchored check box/circle either side of the text and ultimately I am trying to align one check box on the right and one on the left while the text remains centred with equal distance from the boxes/circles

    yes I could just line them up with guides but I want them to remain anchored in the text boxes so I can shift them around with the text

    Once you place them all, can you just group all three objects together so they move as one but the text remains editable?

    yeah I suppose I can do that thought I could find a faster way because I have a lot of boxes/circles to line up
