November 4, 2011 at 8:49 amI haven’t done this myself but I’ve seen a video where FreeFormPro and Twixtor were used to create a similar effect. Of course lots of tracking and rotoscoping are involved. I can see FreeFormPro being used to unfurl parts of the clothes and Twixtor to tweak the speed/motion between frames although in this instance, the effect seems very quick and I’m doubtful if Twixtor was used.
Hopefully others can chime in. This is a good ‘mindfreak’ ad.
Cheers

November 4, 2011 at 8:52 amYou can do the post production in After Effects, but the hardest part will be in the way you shoot the actors. If you want movement like in the clip you posted, then a motion control rig may come in very handy.
For the morphing of the clothes, FreeForm Pro can come in very handy, as it does 3d displacement and distortion and it responds to AE Lights.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

November 4, 2011 at 10:05 pmRoland, Tudor, thanks for chiming in. A small correction. It was FreeForm Pro + Revision FX re:Flex prodcut that was used for the clip you are referring to. See:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpdnTSJXtVA&feature=BFa&list=PLC09C157AF8C42CAC&lf=mh_lolzI would love to see a tutorial on how to use FreeForm (if available on mac) on how to do the Fructis morphs! That’s the best I have seen!
