object boundaries
I’m using AE 6.5 pro and I import a lot of photoshop files as compositions into ae.
The problem I have is that if i apply an effect to a layer, such as a “glow” effect, it stops at the outer boundaries of that object.
For example, if I have the letter “O” in a photoshop layer, when a glow effect is applied in ae, its as if there is an invisible box shaped mask surrounding the object which crops the effect immediately above,below and to the left and right.
I hope I have explained myself clearly…
Is there any way to remove this invisible mask and increase the outer limit?

Thanks for your reply Mylenium, but that doesn’t do it unfortunately… The bounds aren’t growing!

two ways:
1st, build your photoshop file bigger you need … how big your effect should be … and dont import the photoshop file with layersized borders
but with the real size of the file.2nd way would be to make a sub composition from your letter (layer) and
to make the sub comp a little bit bigger. then … back in your comp.
try to use the effect to the sub comp.should run. @beer

Yes it does 😉 sorry I had it at the bottom of the effects stack. Pretty dumb of me.
