  HD to SD using two cards… maybe not?

  Hello there (double posting on Aja forum)

  I’m trying to downconvert from 1080i (HDV timeline) to SD using both Macs at the studio, sending SDI out from Kona2 KBox downconverted to BM Decklink extreme SDI in. Results are less than acceptable… low, low quality signal…

  Should I get a nice, clean SD signal from this workflow? Any clues?

  The Kona II card will Down convert for you on the fly.
  Lay it out to tape via SDI and bring back in.

  OR

  Use Compressor.

  I was hoping to avoid the layout-digitise cycle by importing to the Decklink at the same time the Kona is outputting but, as I already stated, results are far from Ok.

  Will try your suggestion and we’ll see…

  I’ve tried the compressor route and didn’t like it either…
