  • Mixing HD and SD?

I was after some advice if possible. I’m looking to do a shoot in Hi-Def
soon and i’ll be editing in Premiere Pro with a multibridge pro using a mixture of HD and SD. The final OP is for a SD TVC and i wanted to know the best way of mixing the two formats while getting the most out of the HD vision. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks Ryan.

Are you talking about mixing 4×3 with 16×9?

My only advice would be to downconvert the HD using a center cut (or possible a letterbox) so that everything is matched, unless you don’t care about the different aspect ratios.

Hi Steve, thanks for you help. I’m using all 16:9 but a mixture
of HD and SD. I was just wondering if i should try and upscale the SD
or down covert the HD to SD for the edit?
