I’m doing my first final cut pro edit with blackmagic 8-bit 4:2:2 uncompressed.

What is the blackmagic frame size aspect ratio and pixel aspect ratio’s?

Is any of this aspect raio stuff going to comeback and bite me when I compress of DVD?

    Thanks in advance

    PAL? NTSC ?

One thing I’ve come across doing PAL edit > DVD. Send a PAL (720×576) 5:4 anamorphic edit to DVD StudioPro, DVDSP makes the image 720×405.. tell it 4:3 and slightly better at 720×540.. still c’mon.. it’s 720×576.. very wierd.

Anyway.. QT, fcp Export and Compressor all seem to do really bad scaling so I always rescale the final timeline in Shake, but I only do shortform.

Post how you get on, but yes.. it will… so do some short tests first! 😉
