I am a bit confused about the usefulness of the second HDMI port on the Intensity card in windows. As far as I know there is no way to use a monitor for preview on the Intensity so what can the port be used for? I have a camera ingesting through one port on the card but is that all that the Intensity can do?

    Hi,

[joedully] “As far as I know there is no way to use a monitor for preview on the Intensity so what can the port be used for?”

Not sure what you mean by this. There are lots of HDMI displays out there and you can use Intensity with those.

    dear Kristian,
can you post some generic requirement of the hdmi monitor for Intensity?
Like resolution (1366X768 is ok?) and others. Thx

Kristian, In a previous post you said…

“Intensity outputs YUV not RGB. Your Dell or any computer monitor will expect an RGB signals via DVI-D. Intensity does not adjust the framerate of the video to what is expected by the monitor unlike the HDLink.”

Sorry that I didn’t clarify that I was referring to HDMI->DVI displays… I am using the Intensity in the field and a …true… 1080i/p capable HDTV is a bit much to lug around (unless there is a small one made that I am not aware of) I am currently using DVI displays (on other HDMI and DVI ports), that are 1920×1600 (16×10) and they are manageable for transport and live monitoring of 1080i/p.

    Thanks – Joe

Yes, 1366×768 is fine. As long as the monitor is able to handle a 1920×1080 signal via HDMI, then it’s ok. You’ll find that it will work majority of the displays with HDMI input such as Sony and Panasonic.

    Hi Joe,

Yeah, I was referring to displays with HDMI inputs. The smallest I know of is the BenQ 24 inch. Unfortunately, it stretches everything to fit the screen which is not ideal. I think it is only a matter of time before smaller displays gain HDMI connectivity (with 1:1 scaling) though.

Thanks, much appreciate the info as I plan on scaling up use of the Intensity.

Thx for reply. We are all fantastic.
So, if new HDMI BenQ stretches everything,
I suppose that this doesn’t happen whit ldc with 1366X768 resolution
and I can work in 720p as 576i indifferently. It’s corrected?
