    Hello,

Does anyone here use a Supermicro P4SCT+II? I am running Supermicro P4SCT+II with a Pentium 4 3.0ghz Hyper threading CPU. 4x512MB DDR400 =2GB memory, ATI AGP RADEON X700 Graphics card, 4xSeagate SATA drives connected to the On-board 4 port marvell raid on the Supermicro P4SCT+II.

I have the Decklink Extreme on the PCI-X slot on the motherbaord, also tried changing clots and memory configs. As soon as I try and install the Decklink latest drivers the software says not passed Windows testing click okay then the whole system freezes up, then when I try and reboot by powering down the machine I then can get the Windows post messages then the system locks up on the Windows Xp screen.

I also get errors where the SATA drives can fail or cause Windows to hang as well.

I checked and no IRQ conflicts at all, also cleared the CMOS, Flashed Bios. Also tried basic system trying to install Blackmagic and locks up. I sent the motherboard back from RMA in the new year and just got the baord back 3 days ago I was told motherbaord has no faults but did not have any post messages so they cleared the CMOS and flashed the bios.

But connected it all up and same problems system freeze up after the post messages and then doing a re-install of XP trying to install the Decklink is imnpossible as freezes the system.

I can’t seem to get a replacment I bought it on Sept 20th 2005 I was told no fault can be found but I can’t edit or use the motherbaord at all and just annoyed as trrfied everything I can think and had computer technicans check and not be able to work it out and Supermicro when I sent it back saying no faults.

So I am literally clueless as what to do now. Supermicro said send it back again but if they find no problems thenI watsed my money on aboard which does not work.

Has anyone had any similar problems with this baord or may know of any other things I could test?

    Many Thanks,

    Warm Regards,

    LEO BAKER

has a note about another supermicro motherboard. I don’t know if it applies to yours or not.

    Hello Shane,

I’ll clal Supermicro tomorrow and see if I can get an older Bios maybe that will fix these issues I am having?

I’m only guessing, I have no experience with that boardset or Extreme I’m afraid. Were using Tyan and HDPRO.

I did have a similar problem with a Supermicro P4DCE+ and Matrox Digisuite boards years ago. I installed an earlier bios and all was well. SuperMicro used to post the various versions on their web site (may still), and Matrox posted the bios version they used in testing compatability. I wish BM would let us know the specifics of their test systems, it would make it easier to build and troubleshoot.

I have Supermicro P4SCT+II with DeckLink Pro and it has been up and running more than a year and half now without any big issues. Bios is v6.00PG.
I have Broadcom SATA card, so I don’t use internal SATA for my video.
And my system disk is IDE disk.

    Hello,

I went into the BIOS and disabled the Auto config of IRQ’s and set them to Manual. O then re-installed XP PRO then installed SP2 then tried the new decklink drivers for Extreme I got no lockups.

I will install Adobe Video Collection 1.5 later then test to see how it all hold up?
